At ZEF Energy, we aim to make your EV charging experience seamless and efficient. If you encounter any issues with payments or believe you've been overcharged, this guide will help you resolve these matters efficiently.
Handling Overloaded Funds on the App
If you accidentally added too much money to your ZEFNET account:
- Email support@zefenergy.com.
- Provide:
- Your email address.
- The amount you entered.
- The amount you would like to have after the adjustment.
Note: Funds mistakenly added but used during charging sessions are not eligible for a refund.
Preauthorization Holds for Credit Card Payments
When paying by credit card, our system may place a preauthorization hold on your card. This hold typically ranges from $30 to $100 and should drop off within a week. You can read more about this at our article 'Understanding Credit Card Holds on ZEF Chargers'. If you do not see the hold drop within a week:
- Contact support@zefenergy.com.
- Provide:
- The date and time of the charging session.
- The last four digits of the credit card used.
Reporting Overcharges or Session Issues
If you suspect you've been overcharged due to a communication error or equipment failure, please follow these steps:

If paid by credit card:
- Email support@zefenergy.com.
- Include:
- The location of the charger.
- The date and time of the session.
- The last four digits of your credit card.
- The amount you were charged and the amount you believe you should have been charged.

If paid via the ZEFNET app:
- Provide:
- Your email address.
- The location and date/time of the session.
- The amount charged and the amount you believe is correct.
- Provide:
Refund Process
- Credit Card Payments: Refunds will be issued directly to your card.
- ZEFNET Account: Refunds will be credited back to your ZEFNET account.
Important Notes on Refunds
- ZEF Energy does not provide refunds for sessions where the driver has been charged based on the rates set by the owners of the chargers.
